The Opportunity (for future roles)





As a Territory Trade Development Manager, you will be responsible for translating strategy into execution within your designated territory. You will lead data-driven commercial planning, identify growth opportunities, and build strong partnerships with customers, retailers, and internal teams to deliver sustainable business results.



The role offers significant autonomy and influence. You will balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, develop capable teams, and operate in an environment that values accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.



This role aligns closely with the Company's overall strategy and Regional Sales priorities, ensuring sales plans are effectively deployed and adapted to changing market dynamics while driving consistent growth.

YOUR DAY TO DAY



Strategic Leadership and Business Development





Develop and implement data-driven commercial strategies aligned with Company and Regional Sales objectives. Identify and unlock business growth opportunities across the territory. Guide collaborators and business partners toward shared performance goals. Manage resources effectively to deliver strong return on investment within budget. Drive process optimisation and efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.

Customer Relationship Management







Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, accounts, and partners. Understand customer needs and deliver tailored, value-adding solutions. Align teams and partners to the Company's vision through ongoing engagement. Apply customer-centric approaches to proactively resolve challenges and improve outcomes.

People Management and Development





Prioritise initiatives through robust business planning and effective resource allocation. Lead, coach, and develop team members through regular feedback, training, and mentoring. Foster a culture of trust, inclusion, and high performance, role-modelling PMI leadership behaviours. Onboard and integrate new team members, ensuring alignment to business priorities and development goals.




Trade Management





Analyse trade dynamics, market trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities. Manage trade programmes, POSM, and resources to maximise value and efficiency. Coordinate third-party merchandising teams and micro-distributors to improve execution and performance. Partner with wholesale managers to drive volume and distribution performance in retail channels.

Retailer Activation





Design and deliver retailer activation programmes with strong execution and engagement. Monitor and improve retailer well-being and NPS outcomes. Ensure adherence to fiscal and regulatory requirements.

Trade Education





Ensure effective communication of product knowledge and trade programmes through third-party teams and distributors. Equip retailers with tools, insights, and confidence to successfully promote PMSA products.




Business Planning







Develop comprehensive commercial plans informed by market and consumer insights. Coordinate sales planning, forecasting, and field operations to optimise stock availability and distribution. Lead the transition toward digital and hybrid ways of working to enhance commercial capability.

General Administration and Compliance





Maintain high standards of administrative accuracy, including inventory, fleet, and policy compliance. Ensure alignment with internal policies and external regulations across all activities. Uphold customer credit standards and POS regulatory requirements.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR





Matric Certificate completed. Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience. Valid driver's license (held for more than 12 months). Minimum 5 years' FMCG sales experience, including at least 2 years in a team managerial role. Strong proficiency in digital sales tools and MS Office (Excel essential). Strong English communication skills.
