Job Description

Job Title: Tender Manager



Introduction:



The Tender Manager is responsible for leading, coordinating, and preparing high-quality tenders and proposals for industrial and medical supply contracts. The role ensures compliance with client specifications, government procurement regulations, and company policies to secure profitable and strategic business opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities:



1. Tender Management



Manage the entire tender process from pre-qualification to submission and post-tender clarifications. Analyse tender documents, scope, and specifications to determine bid strategy and requirements. Coordinate inputs from technical, financial, legal, and operational teams. Prepare competitive and compliant tender documents within strict deadlines. Maintain a database of tender documents, pricing models, and submission records.

2. Pricing & Costing



Develop accurate cost estimates, ensuring profitability and competitiveness. Liaise with procurement and finance teams to source cost data and validate pricing assumptions. Ensure compliance with pricing regulations and tender financial criteria.

3. Compliance & Risk Management



Ensure tenders meet all legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements (including PPPFA, BBBEE, and PFMA in South Africa). Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks in bids. Maintain confidentiality of company and client information.

4. Stakeholder Engagement



Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to clarify requirements. Coordinate bid review meetings with senior management. Support sales teams with tender presentations and post-award negotiations.

5. Continuous Improvement



Track tender outcomes and analyze win/loss ratios. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, procurement policies, and competitor activities. Implement process improvements to enhance tender quality and efficiency

Qualifications:



Bachelor's Degree

in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Commerce, or related field.

Postgraduate qualification (advantageous):

MBA, Project Management, or Legal/Contracts Management.

Professional certifications

(advantageous):

CIPS, PMP, or relevant tender/procurement credentials.

Desired Experience:



Minimum 5-8 years' experience in tender management, bid coordination, or contracts administration.

At least 3 years in the industrial manufacturing or medical supplies sector.

Proven track record in preparing successful bids for government and private sector tenders.

Strong understanding of South African public procurement processes, including National Treasury and eTender requirements.

Experience working with multidisciplinary teams (engineering, finance, legal, sales).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: R25000,00 - R35000,00 per month
