Purpose of Role:




A SPARK Schools' security guards ensure that the SPARK Support Office space and facilities remain safe and secure during operational hours. They protect the property, staff, and assets from potential threats and breaches by conducting regular patrols and remaining vigilant of their surroundings.


They act as the first responders in any emergency situation and document any incidents that may occur on our premises. Security guards are integral to the SPARK Schools culture and to our commitment to providing a world-class learning environment for both scholars and staff.

Requirements



Responsibilities:



+ The opening and/or closing of the SPARK Support office and associated facilities daily, ensuring that the alarm is deactivated and armed correctly at the beginning and the end of the shift. + Ensure the safety and security of all students, staff, and visitors on site by patrolling the grounds and monitoring access points.
+ Conduct onsite monitoring, including the escorting staff and visitors from the parking lot to the Support entrance.
+ Assist all visitors who arrive to the Support offices by welcoming them, receiving their personal details, providing a guest pass, and directing them to the relevant staff members.
+ Assist visitors as they leave the office by helping them return their guest pass and sign out.
+ Adhere to the safety and security procedures of SPARK.
+ Report safety and security issues to the Receptionist and Personal Assistant, and the Regional Facilities Manager, including the arrival of suspicious persons, the delivery of suspicious packages, the loitering of people in close proximity to office grounds, or any suspicious behaviour by members of staff or visitors.
+ Assist with ad hoc operational tasks, such as moving furniture, working with maintenance and gardening suppliers, collaborating with facilities maintenance staff, or setting up for events.
+ Complete weekly shifts that are inclusive of alternating Saturdays.
+ Communicate and collaborate professionally with support staff as required.
+ Participate actively in staff development opportunities as a member of the SPARK Schools team.
+ Conduct themself in a professional manner at all SPARK Schools events and to all stakeholders.



Qualifications:



The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

English language fluency Police clearance certificate Grade 12 certificate Grade level B or C security certificate
PSiRA registration

Experience




Previous security experience.
