Our client, a high-end coastal hospitality property on the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, is seeking a Temp Sous Chef for a 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled culinary professional to contribute to a busy, premium kitchen. Salary: R12,000 - R16,000 per month, depending on experience.
Start date: ASAP.
Description
The Temp Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations, including food preparation, supervision of junior kitchen staff, maintaining hygiene standards, and assisting in menu execution. You will ensure that all dishes meet the property's high-quality standards while contributing to an efficient and organised kitchen environment.
This temporary position suits a hands-on, detail-oriented culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-end kitchen. Strong teamwork, creativity, and operational discipline are essential to success in this role.
Minimum Requirements

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Cook in a luxury or high-end hospitality environment
• Relevant culinary qualifications or equivalent experience preferred
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
• Ability to perform under pressure in a busy kitchen
• Fully referenceable with a stable work history
