Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position to be based in the Engineering Department, at the Gqeberha, Secondary Production Plant. The successful applicant will report to the Engineering Manager.

Purpose of the Positions

• The Successful intern will be expected to enter into a 12 month fixed-term contract commencing on the 1st of March 2024 and terminating on the 28 February 2025.
• The intention is to give practical work experience to students who are currently studying towards a formal Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification.

Key Learning Areas include (but are not limited to):

• Plant Maintenance
• Plant Operation
• Utilities and Facilities
• General administrative assistance
• Sustainability improvements
• Profit improvement projects
• Machine efficiency improvement projects
• ISO 14001 implementation

To qualify for selection and participation in this programme, candidates must satisfy the following criteria:

• Excellent academic record and in final year of obtaining tertiary qualification - Engineering degree or diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering
• No work experience in the field is required
• Computer literacy - Microsoft Suit (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Sound communication and presentation skills;
• Effective time management;
• Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure.
• Ability to work in a team
• South African citizen;

Prospective interns must submit the following:

• Covering letter/ Motivational letter,
• A curriculum vitae,
• Certified Academic record,
• Certified Grade 12,
• A letter from the tertiary institution,
• A format for evaluation, required by the tertiary institution,
• Certified copies of Identity Document.
