Job Description

Purpose of the Job:

Our firm is seeking a skilled Draughtsperson with expertise in telecommunication planning as well as design, to join our team. The applicant must be able to conduct telecommunications network design under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings in the required Field. Collects and analyses data under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic problems. Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Qualifications & Experience:

A minimum of 3 years' experience in the relevant design fields including telecommunications.

Experience in FTTH design is advantageous.

Software:

The candidate must indicate experience with the following software's:

AutoCAD TeleCAD GIS (Advantageous) QGIS Monday.com SQL (Advantageous) MS Co-Pilot, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Projects

Skills and Knowledge:

Strong understanding of telecom network planning principles and standards. Proficiency in network planning tools and software (e.g., QGIS, Python, TeleCAD GIS). In-depth knowledge of fibreoptic system architectures. Expertise in link budget calculations and propagation modelling. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in the telecom industry.
