A well-established plant genetics company with a global footprint in more than 66 countries is seeking a well-rounded, experienced Technology Development Associate to be responsible for managing product testing and registration, conducting field trials, and ensuring new seed varieties comply with local regulations and meet market needs.Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a Postgraduate Degree in the relevant field; Masters degree is advantageous
• Minimum 5 years experience in Agronomy, preferably within Southern Africa
• Seed industry experience is highly desirable
• Must be skilled in stakeholder engagement and navigating regulatory frameworks
• Results-driven with strong analytical and communication skills
• Must be able to debate constructively and contribute to decision-making processes
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data management tools
• Fluency in one or more local languages is advantageous
• Must have a valid drivers license and be willing to travel when required

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Coordinating product testing and registration in accordance with local seed policies and regulations.
• Designing and implementing trial plans using existing Technology Development systems.
• Managing field trials for field crops, focusing on agronomic performance, yield potential, and adaptability across various market segments.
• Conducting evaluations of new technologies via literature reviews and collaboration with research institutions.
• Providing technical product training to commercial teams and partners.
• Designing and managing trials across multiple agro-climatic zones to evaluate new seed performance.
• Analyzing trial data and participating in Product Advancement Meetings (PAM).
• Supporting product registration efforts and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Contributing to product launch strategies in collaboration with commercial teams.
• Providing technical support in seed production, quality control, complaint resolution, and field inspections.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and industry developments.
• Travelling up to 50% of the time to trial sites and markets.
