WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR


PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Technician will be responsible to design and procure material and components for development, in-house and field tests. Design, updating, maintaining and creation of 3D drawing data packs on 3D Solid Edge Drawing package for new and existing products. This includes to create and maintain product Mechanical drawings according to requirements as stipulated by the Product Development department within RDM. The Technician will also assist the Design Engineers and Project Managers, ensuring that related development projects, contracts and programs are managed effectively and timeously.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

+ To create, update and check all technical drawings in accordance with the relevant international Drafting standards. + To ensure that all technical drawing electronic data are filed and maintained in the agreed upon system on the network. Ensure the adherence to all related procedures and acts on all technical drawings and practices.
+ To prepare design and manufacturing data packs for products and associated specialised tooling.
+ Design, procure and test prototypes.
+ Design, procure and commission specialised development tooling.
+ Support Marketing and Production
+ Adhere to all health and safety requirements.
+ Adheres and implements Rheinmetall Denel Munitions Policies and Procedures and ensures compliance to ISO Standards with respect to SHE/Quality/Environmental/Energy



WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

POST REQUIREMENTS:

+ BTech in Mechanical Engineering. + At least 3 years' experience in creative technical environment.
+ Knowledgeable to Explosives practices, regulations and rules.
+ Knowledge of ISO 9001/2000 and ISO 14001 and other related international standards.
+ Good problem solving and client relationship skills
+ Good interpersonal, facilitation and conflict management skills
+ Good communication, planning and organizing skills
+ Computer literacy (MS Office packages, 3-D design packages)
