Requirements
National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
ECSA registered as a Candidate Engineering Technician
Three (3) to five (5) years' (post first relevant tertiary qualification)
experience
Computer literacy
Valid Code B or EB driver's licence.
Special Conditions:
Ability to perform standby duties and work flexible hours Required to work in all weather conditions. Able to work in confined spaces.
Key Performance Areas
Provide technical advice to districts on matters pertaining to
specialised support on maintenance and
network/equipment performances
Ensure that adequate standards are adhered to maintenance
projects are implemented as planned, the distribution
network system complies with the NERSA license
requirement and NRS 048
Coordinate, in liaison with Engineering Branch, electricity supply
project developments for residential, commercial and industrial
usages, as and when required
Provide technical support in implementing and auditing planned
maintenance programmes, develop tender specifications, and
monitor service provider performance to ensure compliance with
technical and contractual standards
Respond to technical maintenance enquiries, analyse major
outages, and contribute to corrective actions and infrastructure
improvements to ensure systems align with policies
and operational requirements
Coordinate administrative tasks including preparation of
investigation and productivity reports, budget checks,
requisitions, and operational documentation to support service
delivery and compliance
Capture actuals on SAP, respond to queries through research
and data extraction, and ensure reporting procedures align with
operational and policy requirements
