Technical Support/sales: Pest & Disease Control (western Cape)
Job Description
A dynamic agribusiness in the Western Cape with a focus on customised crop solutions is offering a position for a Technical Support/Sales in Piketberg. The successful candidate will work closely and report back to the two chemical advisors. His/her main job will be to focus on and manage the pest and disease monitoring programme on the farms.
Responsibilities: Managing pest and disease monitoring program. Conducting and evaluating spray trials, providing feedback to clients regarding pest and disease status. Pest and disease identification. Managing weather station data. Soil/leaf sampling. Managing pest scouting program with client farms. Training and assisting scouts on farms and reporting of findings to their agricultural advisors. Managing client farm data. Assisting farms with the use of mating disruption techniques, and with the use of biological control methods.
Requirements: xe2x80xa2 MSc or BSc Agric degree in plant production, agronomy, horticulture or similar xe2x80xa2 Must have a drivers license xe2x80xa2 Enjoy working outdoors xe2x80xa2 Must be able to work alone as well as in a group xe2x80xa2 Willing to be flexible with working hours xe2x80xa2 Bilingual : Proficiency in English and Afrikaans will be advantageous.
