Johannesburg Head Office | R380 000 to R480 000 per annum + Commission

The Role: Technical Sales Specialist (Africa)
This role exists to drive new business development and manage key customer relationships across African markets. The focus is on identifying opportunities, positioning suitable technical solutions, and achieving sales targets through proactive customer engagement. The position plays a critical part in expanding the company's footprint and strengthening its presence in the region.
Key Responsibilities
Bring several years of experience in technical sales across Africa or related markets
Liaise proactively with distributors to identify and pursue sales opportunities
Maintain ongoing communication with customers and act as a trusted technical consultant
Sell the full technical product portfolio across new installations and modernisations
Conduct site surveys and assess potential sales prospects
Generate professional proposals, tenders, and customer quotations
Meet monthly quoting and follow-up targets (Bid and Hit rate)
Prospect new clients through customer visits and market research
Collaborate with internal teams on product replacements, pricing, and technical details
Build and maintain long-term customer relationships across African regions
Complete a minimum of 15 African business-travel trips annually for client visits and project development
Attend internal sales meetings, product launches, and provide updates on progress and pipeline activity
About You
Several years of experience in technical sales, ideally with exposure to African markets
Strong ability to build relationships and position solutions in a consultative manner
Skilled in preparing proposals, tenders, and quotations
Comfortable with extensive travel across Africa
Organised, proactive, and able to work independently to achieve sales targets
Confident communicator with strong customer-facing skills
