Job Summary Job Specification; Render services generally associated with that of a Technical Sales Representative for the sale of machines, spare parts and services offered by our Principals in South Africa and from time in Sub Saharan Africa Travel to customers to conduct business on a regular basis to countries including but not limited to Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Angola Use skills, training and best efforts to secure sales on a profitable basis Learn about and understand the application of the products from literature, training, testing and other means supplied by the employer and its Principals Learn and keep abreast of technical developments required to perform the above efficiently and correctly Visit and be in contact with customers to establish their needs and application of the products the Employer can offer Identify the products to be offered and to determine the cost of supplying these in co-operation with the management and Principals Utilize price lists, quotations from suppliers and internal information to establish selling prices for equipment Verify all pricing information and determination of the selling price with management prior to committing the employer in a binding quotation and order Prepare quotations and present these, together with any other relevant documentation to the customer to, wherever possible on a face to face basis Promote the products we offer including promoting the benefits to the customer and advantages over competitors Accurately describe the application of the equipment offered Accurately define the scope of supply of the offer and how this fits into the customers application Keep abreast of developments of potential new projects with the customers and to inform management and our Principals of these developments Secure orders for the products and to ensure that all relevant information regarding the application of the products is made known to the management and Principals of the employer, t his includes obtaining such information as is relevant to the order and may be required by the Employer or its Principals to correctly execute the order Keep informed of the performance of the Employers equipment operating at the customers facilities and to report the same to management Liaise with our Principal suppliers to best promote their product and look after the best interest of the Employer Prepare reports on the status of enquiries Prepare costings for quotations Prepare budgets for projected sales Conduct administrative tasks in addition to those listed above including expense claims and any other as may be required by management and the established systems of the company Keep abreast of future buying trends of our customers Respond to all enquiries in a timely and coherent manner Represent the company at trade shows, events and demonstrations where applicable Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers, in person, and via email and telephone calls Arrange meetings with current customers and new potential customers to further our business interests Minimum Requirements; Valid drivers licence Matric or Grade 12 Formal tertiary qualification preferred Food processing equipment experience within the beef and poultry sectors Minimum 5 years of technical sales experience within an operation servicing the food processing sector is a pre-requisite for employment Self-motivated and self-managed Ability to work independently and within a team Strong and demonstrable negotiation ability Tenacious and resilient Results-driven with a solutions orientation Active listener with excellent communication skills both verbal and written Ability to recognise new business opportunities Assertively confident, engaging and people-focused Professional personnel brand with emotional maturity Good business acumen and commercial orientation Ability to build trusting relationships and a strong rapport with customers Excellent Planning, organising, and time management skills A confident communicator who is well networked within the industry Comfortable traveling and being away from home for periods of time (local and across border) Kindly note that by submitting your application for this career opportunity you agree that Guardian Recruiting may use your application for the purpose of the recruitment and selection of the said position and this information may be shared with the relevant stakeholders in the business.
