Technical Sales Representative
A job opportunity is available at our client a leading cement manufacturing company, for the position of Technical Sales Representative based in the Durban Umhlanga Shared Office. The successful candidate will report to the Area Manager (AM) Durban Region. This role involves technically and commercially selling products to both existing and new customers within a designated geographical area or market segment. The representative will also be responsible for driving new business growth by introducing the product range.
Job Responsiblities
Achieve set targets, objectives, and budget for the year.
Develop new business opportunities and maintain relationships with existing customers.
Identify growth opportunities with current customers.
Maintain and improve established CRM programs.
Manage ad hoc sales projects.
Provide technical customer management.
Follow up on calls, orders, and leads.
Prepare quotations.
Attend exhibition shows when required.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
Maximize customer face time by spending the majority of working hours outside the office, visiting customers regularly, and providing updates to the Regional Manager.
Lead demand creation activities and provide product training to customers through regular seminars and individual presentations.
Conduct product demonstrations for customers.
Respond to queries professionally and in a timely manner.
Conduct customer training sessions.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Matriculation
SAQA accredited diploma or degree in Civil Engineering
Coursework in Chemistry or technical/technology related to buildings or chemistry is advantageous
Postgraduate qualification in Sales and/or Marketing
A minimum of 5 years of technical sales experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Cement Manufacturing or Mining
ISO 14001 training
OHSAS 18001 training
Valid Driver's License
