About the role
We manufacture, certify and supply above?ground pressure vessels and process equipment for storage, mining filtration (wet & dry), and brewery/fermentation applications. You will own the technical sales cycle end?to?end--qualifying opportunities, scoping solutions, preparing compliant proposals, and closing deals--while ensuring designs and nameplates, hazard categorisation and conformity assessments meet South Africa's Pressure Equipment Regulations (PER) and SANS 347 requirements.
Key responsibilities
Business development & account growth
Identify and develop new customers across mining, food & beverage, and industrial sectors; manage key accounts and build long?term relationships.
Solution scoping & technical support
Conduct site visits, process audits and application sizing for pressure vessels, fermenters and ancillaries; recommend consumables and capital equipment that deliver performance and LCC value.
Proposal, tender & negotiation
Prepare compliant technical proposals, BOMs, datasheets and costings; manage RFQs/RFPs with EPCMs and mining houses, and negotiate terms to close.
Regulatory & standards compliance
Ensure designs, nameplates and documentation conform to
PER (OHS Act, 1993)

(hazard category, AIA review), and relevant
SANS 10108
hazardous area classification where applicable (e.g., vapour handling, flammable media). Coordinate AIA reviews and maintain declarations of conformity.
Cross?functional collaboration
Work with engineering, QA/inspection, fabrication, and service teams to ensure code compliance (ASME VIII/PD5500/EN13445 where specified) and on?time delivery.
CRM & reporting
Maintain accurate activity logs, forecasts and market intelligence; provide monthly sales performance reports.
Minimum requirements
Education:
Mechanical/Chemical/Industrial Engineering (Diploma/BTech/BEng) or equivalent; ECSA registration or progress advantageous.
Experience:
3-5+ years in
technical sales
of pressure vessels, filtration equipment, or process systems (mining/process & brewery/beverage sectors); hands?on sizing/selection and process optimisation experience.
Codes & compliance:
Working knowledge of
PER & SANS 347
conformity assessment (hazard categories, AIA, nameplate & documentation), and familiarity with
SANS 10108
for hazardous locations.
Standards:
Exposure to
ASME Section VIII
pressure vessel requirements (Div 1/2) and/or
PED/EN
equivalents is advantageous for export and multinational projects.
Commercial skills:
Strong negotiation, pricing, margin management and tendering; comfortable with EPCM workflows and capital/consumable mix.
Tools:
Proficient in MS Office; CRM; able to interpret P&IDs, GA drawings and fabrication QA packs.
Travel:
Valid driver's licence, own vehicle; willingness to travel regionally in SA and into Africa.

--including hazard categorisation, AIA verification, nameplates and declarations--consistent with legal obligations for pressure equipment at ?0.5 kPa in South Africa.

hazardous?area classification and related Ex requirements.
