Job Description
A leading manufacturer in the waste collection and disposal industry is seeking a Technical Mechanical Engineer / Technician to join its production team.
The company specialises in the local manufacture of high-quality refuse compactors and lifting equipment, and is known for its commitment to durability, innovation, and reliable after-sales support.
R15 000 - R30 000 CTC | On Site | Gauteng | Permanent
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and workshop operations.
- Proven ability to work with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical drawings.
- Strong, hands-on problem-solving skills.
- Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in vehicle, truck, or heavy equipment manufacturing (preferably in waste or lifting equipment).
- Proficient in basic computer systems (CAD experience advantageous).
- ECSA registration or eligibility will be advantageous.
- Interpret and apply Mechanical Engineering drawings in a manufacturing environment.
- Read and troubleshoot electrical schematics and hydraulic diagrams.
- Provide technical support to assembly and production teams.
- Ensure quality control and adherence to Engineering specifications.
- Collaborate with design, production, and service departments to solve Technical challenges.
- Assist in testing, commissioning, and fault-finding of completed vehicles.
