Technical Assistant - Cape Town Technical / Construction
Cape Town - Western Cape
Our client is looking for a technically minded Technical Assistant to support their operations team during a transitional period. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a background in alarm systems and electronics who is eager to contribute, learn, and grow in a dynamic environment. (3 month contract)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist technicians with basic tasks such as carrying tools, setting up equipment, and maintaining clean work areas.
- Support with installations and routine maintenance of electronic systems.
- Report faults or issues observed during site visits.
- Follow instructions and comply with all safety procedures.
- Be available to travel between sites and support the team as required.
- Provide after-hours standby support for urgent faults or system issues.
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- 12 years of relevant technical experience (preferably in alarm systems/electronics).
- Physically fit and able-bodied.
- Willingness to work overtime and standby shifts.
- Computer literate and technically inclined.
- Reliable and eager to learn
- Detail-oriented and safety-conscious
- A team player with a proactive attitude
- Able to adapt to fast-paced, field-based work
