Job Description

Duties:

• Responsible for all aspects of IFRS 16 accounting
• Ensuring Compliance: Managing and overseeing the implementation and compliance of IFRS16 accounting standards within the organization.
• Lease Accounting: Accurately and efficiently recording and reporting lease-related financial transactions in adherence to IFRS16 requirements.
• Assuring the IFRS 16 accounting, reporting and reconciliations for the 600 plus branch agreements is delivered timely and accurately
• Ensuring all relevant factors on network and sites leases affecting the IFRS 16 accounting are timely and completely captured in monthly reports. Manging the IFRS 16 accounting outsource provider.
• Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis for all IFRS 16 balances.
• Sufficient and Effective Reconciliation and Reporting of all balances.
• FRS101 statutory disclosure requirements
• Single Point of Contact on all IFRS 16 matters
• Keeping up to date with any IFRS 16 changes

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA is preferred.

Experience:

• Completed SAICA Articles
• Proven experience working with IFRS16 accounting standards in a corporate setting.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of lease accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).

Skills & Competencies:

• Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
