We're looking for a dynamic and technically-minded Sales Account Manager with a passion for food and health ingredients to join our team. About the Role:
This position combines both new business development (50%) and key account management (50%). You'll be responsible for managing existing customer relationships while identifying and developing new opportunities with food manufacturers across Cape Town and surrounding areas.
You'll need a strong background in technical sales - particularly in specialty ingredients such as flavours, colourants, extracts, and related components - and the ability to confidently engage with clients on both a commercial and technical level.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and grow a portfolio of existing and prospective clients
Identify and develop new sales opportunities within the food and beverage manufacturing space
Define and execute sales strategies
Conduct market research and stay informed on industry trends
Set and work towards achieving sales budgets and performance targets
Present innovative ingredient solutions and product concepts to customers
Maintain detailed records and reports on client activities and sales progress
Skills & Experience Required:
Tertiary qualification in Food Science(preferred)
Minimum of 4 years' sales experiencein food and health ingredients
Experience managing global accounts, major food brands, and/or retail clients
Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
Professional, personable, and confident working within a collaborative team environment
Willingness to travel within the region
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
