As a Line Station Supervisor, you'll be the driving force behind the smooth execution of scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance at our Line Stations. You'll lead a team of skilled technicians, ensuring that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory and manufacturer standards. From coordinating aircraft movements to certifying completed tasks, your leadership will directly impact our operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Principal Accountabilities
Effectively co-ordinate team and section's workload to meet targets and objectives set.
Perform inspections, duplicate inspections, testing, trouble shooting and certify tasks completed by him or uncertified team staff.
Ensure all work performed by his team and himself is compliant with all Manufactures and Regulatory Authority Requirements.
Supervise sub-ordinates.
Maintain discipline.
Develop, motivate and appraise staff.
Evaluate and recommend staff courses.
Resolve HR queries.
Accountable for team culture to meet targets.
Monitor crew strength and certifications required in conjunction with Manager.
Monitor crew leave / relief requirements in conjunction with Manager.
Ensure correct usage of tools and equipment and a safe working environment for staff, engines, aircraft and equipment.
Co-ordinate aircraft movements and activities of all trades to ensure timeous maintenance completion.
Ensure timeous completion of all required reports for SAA and customers.
Attend daily progress meetings and provide Manager with workload updates and aircraft status.
Report aircraft status to Manager and MCC as and when required.
Ensure mandatory tool checks and staff logbooks are kept current as per WM.
Retrieve aircraft manual information and authorize requisitions for spares.
Ensure that tools and equipment is returned to stores and work area cleaned on completion of shift.
Qualifications & Experience
Must be qualified in the applicable Trade and have at least 5 years maintenance experience (excluding training period as an Apprentice).
Must have current full shop certification (Type II).
Code B driver's license and meet the requirements to obtain an Airports Company of SA (ACSA) airside permit for domestic airports and restricted areas.
Procedural, Regulatory Authority and documentation courses.
Knowledge and Skills
In-depth knowledge of SAAT QMP and Regulatory Authorities Rules and Regulations (e.g. FAA, JAA and CAA).
SHE courses (NOSA, firefighting, first aid, etc.)
Training and operation of specialized test equipment and tooling.
Must be computer literate - MS Office, AMOS and SAP/R3
Leadership
Good communication skills (verbal and written).
Planning and organizational skills.
Attributes
In-depth knowledge of SAAT QMP and regulatory frameworks (FAA, JAA, CAA)
Strong leadership and supervisory skills
