Kumba Iron Ore

We produce high-grade iron ore, the key component in steel widely used in construction and manufacturing across the world. Our activities include all aspects - exploration; mining; processing and blending; shipping; marketing and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.

As a Team Assistant Company Secretary you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Compile, coordinate, and monitor the calendar of team members as required
  • Take minutes at meetings and provide general assistance during presentations to the department
  • Organise and maintain the diaries as designated and make appointments as required
  • Order stationery and other consumables
  • Book meeting rooms, catering, and equipment
  • Reconcile general and travel expenses in line with company policy
  • Log invoices received and submit to accounts for payment
  • Perform expense reconciliation and invoice administration
  • Provide general administrative support as necessary
  • Assist team members with time-related activities
  • Compile various monthly reports to provide feedback to relevant stakeholders
  • Execute SAP orders
  • Process all documentation according to company policies and procedures as well as document control principles, within specified set time frames to ensure compliance
  • Arrange travel, visas, and accommodation for the department, according to the Anglo American travel and accommodation policy
  • Organise and coordinate all visits of consultants and other providers for the P&O management team according to procedures
This role is in the Business Support Services (BSS) at a Band A4 level reporting to Company Secretary.

Qualifications
  • Grade 12 / N3 Technical
  • Secretarial Diploma (Preferred)
  • Valid SA Drivers licence
Experience
  • MS Office (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint) and SAP
  • Communication skills
  • Time Management and organising skills
  • Fault-finding skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in English language
