About The Daniel Academy:
The Daniel Academy is a unique, independent school located in Gordon's Bay, Western Cape. We are founded on practical Biblical principles and combine the philosophies of Maria Montessori and Charlotte Mason to cultivate courageous, compassionate leaders who are equipped to flourish in a changing world. Class sizes are small (typically 16-20 learners) and our curriculum emphasises academic excellence, character formation, sustainability, practical life skills, and a love of learning.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring and highly qualified Teacher who embraces our mission of "Live, Learn, Lead". The successful candidate will teach, inspire and mentor students within our school's vision: leadership, integrity, stewardship and resilience.
You will be part of a collaborative teaching team, catering for one of the following phases:
Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons that align with The Daniel Academy's curriculum and educational philosophy.
Create an inclusive, respectful, and nurturing classroom environment where learners feel safe, motivated and valued.
Foster critical thinking, independence, and character in learners -- not just academic achievement.
Integrate hands-on learning experiences, eco-education, garden/food-prep activities, outdoor excursions and sustainable-living themes. thedanielacademy.co.za
Assess student progress, provide narrative feedback, communicate with parents and support learner development beyond academic results.
Contribute to school life: participate in extra-curricular programmes, help maintain the school's whole-food philosophy, mentor learners in less formal settings.
Uphold the school's ethos of respect, kindness, servant-leadership and a love of learning.
Qualifications & Expectations:
A recognised teaching qualification (Minimum Bachelor of Education or similar)
Registration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE)
Minimum 2-3 years of teaching experience (for Senior or Intermediate roles); newly qualified teachers considered for Foundation Phase.
Strong commitment to the school's ethos; ability to embrace biblical principles, sustainable living practices and character-based education.
Excellent communication skills (English required; Afrikaans would be an advantage).
Ability to work in a small-school environment and collaborate effectively with staff and families.
Passion for learner-centred education, creativity, and practical hands-on learning.
