Job Description
A well-established, small accounting practice in Boksburg is seeking a highly experienced Tax Administrator to take full ownership of tax-related functions across a diverse portfolio of clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on individual with deep technical tax knowledge and solid practical experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and submission of provisional tax returns (individuals, companies, trusts)
- Handling SARS objections, penalty remissions, and audits
- Registration and de-registration for all tax types: Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, SDL
- Address and banking detail updates, public officer appointments, and third-party appointments
- Maintenance of tax profiles and eFiling accounts
- Re-allocation of unallocated SARS payments
- EMP501 reconciliations and submissions (bi-annually)
- Applications for tax clearance PINs, directives, and foreign investment allowance certificates
- Trust tax returns and Master of the High Court annual returns
- Submission of IT3(t) certificates for trusts
- Capital gains tax handling and related declarations
- Basic tax computations and understanding of allowable/disallowable deductions
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a tax-focused role
- Proven knowledge of SARS processes, legislation, and tax compliance
- Strong understanding of individual, company, and trust taxation
- Experience working with SARS eFiling and related systems
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client files
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Own transport is highly preferable
