Role Purpose
Manage the design and delivery of business intelligence and analytics solutions that provide business with the necessary data and insights that drive business decision making, operational excellence, business performance and service excellence.
Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics or equivalent qualification
  • 5-7 years business intelligence, management information systems or data analytics experience
  • 3-5 years management experience
  • Experience with Bonitas Medical Aid is advantageous
  • Business process knowledge
  • Knowledge of business intelligence and data analytics systems, programmes and processes
  • Knowledge of financial service industry
Duties & Responsibilities
PROCESS
  • Design solutions in line with the business intelligence architecture of the environment and business processes that need to be measured and analysed.
  • Set the business intelligence and analysis agenda by engaging regularly with stakeholders to determine business requirements.
  • Elicit the business requirements and uncover business opportunities, resulting functionality, data and processes needed in order to recommend the appropriate solution.
  • Provide frameworks to best identify, understand, and interpret data structures across various databases within the business to facilitate data analysis and continuous monitoring activities.
  • Oversee the data sourcing, data models and data mining activities to support descriptive and trend analysis within the business environment.
  • Contribute to data integrity and cleansing activities in order to increase the quality of data within Momentum Metropolitan.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of accurate, reliable and timeous metrics and reports to the business.
  • Oversee the delivery of data models, reports and insights that proactively identify risks within business, provide insight into business metrics.
  • Continuously monitor and drive the optimisation of management information systems.
  • Actively pursue opportunities to assist business to identify risks and exposure to white collar crime, and the prevention of losses through early detection and prevention processes.
  • Identify financial and business risks to the company and escalate accordingly.
  • Undertake specialist feasibility analysis, evaluations or projects and advise on the optimisation of resources and profitability.
CLIENT
  • Provide authoritative, expertise and advice to clients and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the process of negotiating objective and realistic service level agreements, monitor appropriateness and recommend adjustments.
  • Deliver on service level agreements made with clients and internal and external stakeholders in order to ensure that client expectations are managed.
  • Make recommendations to improve client service and fair treatment of clients within area of responsibility.

FINANCE
  • Compile and control budgets to minimise expenditure in alignment with tactical delivery plans.
  • Control the budget for area, including the authorisation of expenditures and implementation of financial regulations.
  • Manage high risk and problematic financial issues in area of accountability and contribute to the development of policy.
  • Implement and manage financial risk methodologies, techniques and systems and use to monitor and report on financial activities.
  • Implement and provide feedback on the effectiveness of financial policy, practice and procedures: preventing illegal, unethical or improper conduct.
  • Implement risk management, governance and compliance policies in own practice area, to identify and manage governance and risk exposure liability.
  • Investigate reported wilful acts of non-compliance to organisation policy and practice and report on findings.
