Job Description

Systems Administrator responsible for installing, configuring, and updating systems; proactively monitoring to identify potential issues; implementing preventative measures; ensuring regular system backups; and managing downtime effectively.
Responsibilities:

• Administer, monitor, and maintain all company network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, and firewalls.
• Install, configure, and manage physical and virtual servers (Windows, Linux, etc.), ensuring high performance and availability.
• Manage and optimise telephony infrastructure and related systems.
• Proactively monitor systems for reliability, performance, and security, responding to alerts and resolving issues effectively.
• Perform root cause analysis of faults, implement corrective measures, and document findings.
• Troubleshoot and monitor network performance for both remote and on-site deployments.
• Implement and configure monitoring tools to enable proactive maintenance of servers and infrastructure.
• Provide advanced technical support to the IT support team on complex issues.
• Collaborate with management to define and enforce policies and procedures for network security and performance.
• Secure server environments through documented policies, procedures, and continuous monitoring.
• Define and maintain network protocol standards to strengthen security between devices.
• Oversee patch management policies and ensure timely updates.
• Manage software licensing, budget control, and vendor/supplier relationships.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices, recommending improvements to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Education:

• Degree l Diploma in IT Related field
• Min 3 years experience in infrastructure position
• Understanding of SQL backups
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, network administrator (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLans, Firewalls) and Server Technologies (Windows server, Linux / Unix, Active Directory)
• Knowledge of Scripting languages (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
