Job Description


Performs system management and system programming, software product evaluation and testing on the computing environment including system configuration, troubleshooting, security, resource monitoring and administration of storage area network.

This post reports to SENIOR MANAGER (OPEN SYSTEMS ADMIN)
Key Responsibility Areas

  • Installs, customises, upgrades and maintains Microsoft Active Directory, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Diagnoses and resolves technical problems.
  • Provides consultancy services and support to all Units within the Council.
  • Provides support in planning for disaster recovery events.
  • Performs multiple platform and open systems related tasks relative to hardware and software.
  • Administers systems security, re-organises the database and provides quality assurance.
  • Installs, customises, upgrades and maintains Microsoft Active Directory, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Performs capacity planning and performance tuning activities for hardware and system software.

  • Interpersonal Relationships- The ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with people within and outside of the municipality.
  • Communication- The capacity to listen attentively, grasp issues, present information in a clear manner and respond appropriately to verbal and written communication of others.

Essential Requirements
  • Diploma in the ICT field (NQF level 6) or equivalent.
  • Valid motor vehicle driving license.
  • 3 years relevant ICT Systems administration experience.
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelorxe2x80x99s Degree in the ICT field. (NQF level 7).
  • 4 Years relevant experience.
