Location: Randburg, South Africa
Purpose of the Position: To provide engineering support and maintenance on all Digital File Delivery infrastructure ensuring optimum running in conjunction with the central MAM system. Key Performance Objectives Operational Delivery

• Provide input in the creative design and implementation of new technology and system changes.
• Support MAM-DDP business objectives
• Provide workarounds to minimize on air impact.
• Research and implement new broadcast technologies.
• Implement digital delivery and processing related solutions to meet customer requirements.
• Provide recommendations for improving system capacity and capabilities in line with department roadmap.
• Participate in system audits.
• Provide a 24/7 technical support to operational staff and clients
• Provide feedback on deliverables through appropriate communication channels and technical report writing
• Implement system maintenance schedule.
• Provide an excellent one-stop service and be part of an elite team.

Qualifications

• Minimum formal qualifications: National Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Computer Systems/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Linux System Administration certification preferred.
• Microsoft Azure or AWS cloud experience preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 3 year of experience in Television post and/or pre-production environments
• Working knowledge of HD/SD/UHD systems and systems integration.
• Working knowledge of Loudness correction, QC, transcoding and file transfer systems
• Working knowledge of media processing principles.
• Understanding of system security best practices
• Ability to work across various operating system (Windows, OS X, Linux)
• Knowledge of Video and audio related systems essential
• Understanding of IT network infrastructure, network switch management and fault-finding.
• Systems diagram understanding and file based workflows
• Professional interaction with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
