About the Role

MRC Connect is searching for an experienced MSP Systems & Network Engineer. You'll work across multiple client environments, take ownership of systems, lead technical projects, and continuously develop your skills in cloud, security, automation, and infrastructure. A high level of discipline, logic, responsibility, communication skills and drive is required.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and support client IT environments (on-prem and cloud) Plan and execute technical projects, including: Microsoft 365 email and SharePoint migrations Firewall configuration, updates, and security rule management Security and permissions restructuring Administer and improve: Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP Windows Server (2012-2022) Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) Configure and maintain firewalls and VPNs (Fortinet, SonicWall, Sophos or similar) Provide Level 1 & 2 support across desktops, servers, networks, and cloud services Use RMM and remote tools (preferably N-Able) to proactively detect and resolve issues Write and deploy scripts (PowerShell preferred) to streamline client and internal processes Identify improvement opportunities and propose practical solutions Maintain clear, client-friendly documentation and SOPs Work within ticketing systems (Zoho, N-Able or similar) and meet SLAs

Minimum Requirements (Essential)

Minimum 3 years' experience working at an MSP Strong hands-on experience with: Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Security & Compliance) Active Directory, Azure, DNS, DHCP, VPNs Firewall administration (Fortinet, SonicWall, or similar) VMware virtualization RMM platforms (N-Able preferred) PowerShell scripting and automation experience Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching) Experience supporting both remote and on-site clients Strong problem-solving and time-management skills Excellent English and Afrikaans communication and documentation skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced MSP environment
