The South African office plays a key role in supporting local producers and exporters in meeting international requirements for organic and sustainability certifications.
About the Role:
The Sustainable Auditor will be based at the Somerset West office and is expected to start in March 2026 (or sooner if available). Reporting to the Evaluation Manager, this position involves conducting audits for organic, sustainable, conservation, and social standards such as EU, NOP, Fair-for-Life, and Rainforest Alliance. While most audits will take place in South Africa, the role may include travel to other countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. Candidates must be willing to travel to remote areas for periods ranging from one day to two weeks.
Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct on-site audits at farms, factories, and export offices.
• Complete audit reports accurately and within deadlines.
• Communicate with clients regarding compliance assessments.

Requirements:

• BSc, BSc Agric, or similar tertiary qualification.
• Experience in agriculture and/or certification (especially organic, sustainable, or fair trade) is advantageous.
• High level of computer literacy (MS Office proficiency).
• Excellent English and Afrikaans communication skills (spoken and written).
• Independent, self-motivated, organized, and trustworthy.
• Willingness to learn and a keen interest in sustainability.
