Job Description


An experienced Sushi Sous Chef is sought for this high-end restaurant situated in the Stellenbosch Winelands. Minimum Experience or Qualification:

  • Diploma in Food Preparation and Culinary Arts
  • Must have at least 2 years experience in a senior/supervisory position within a high-end Asian / Sushi Restaurant
  • Good knife skills
  • Neat with high regard for personal hygiene and presentation
  • Good verbal communication skills in English
  • Able to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays
Key Performance Objectives:
  • Production of high-end quality Sushi and related dishes
  • Be able to adapt menus to meet the dietary requirements of guests or functions
  • Work well in conjunction with the Executive Chef and Restaurant Manager
  • Be innovative and creative regarding new dishes and follow sushi trends, and local competitors to present to the Executive Chef
  • Attention to detail
  • Work well under pressure
  • Show leadership skills and develop the team through sharing and training skills
