The ideal candidate will have experience with sushi preparation, an eye for detail, and a passion for delivering an exceptional culinary experience.DescriptionWe are looking for a Sushi Chef with expertise in traditional Japanese cuisine, who can prepare an extensive sushi menu, manage kitchen stock, and uphold the highest food quality standards. This role requires leadership skills to guide junior kitchen staff and maintain kitchen efficiency.Key Responsibilities:

• Create and prepare a diverse sushi menu, including high-quality raw fish dishes.
• Prepare appetizers, soups, and salads in line with Japanese culinary traditions.
• Lead the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef.
• Work closely with the service team to accommodate special requests and dietary requirements.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in food preparation and presentation.
• Supervise food quality, hygiene, and restaurant standards.
• Oversee stock management, date labeling, and waste reduction.
• Assist in maintaining kitchen organization and staff training initiatives.
• Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations.

• Matric; a Culinary Diploma is preferred.
• At least 4 years of experience in a senior chef role, preferably in sushi or Asian cuisine.
• Strong knowledge of sushi types and rolling techniques.
• Valid driverxe2x80x99s license and own transport.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
• Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
