Surveillance Technician is responsible for installing, monitoring, repairing, and troubleshooting security systems. The duties and responsibilities include assessing the location's current security system and recommending the appropriate upgrades or providing advice on how to develop systems for Protection Services Offices. To ensure CCTV infrastructure maintenance,configuration and testing of network devices.
Role Context
Operational Tasks
Proficient in installing and maintaining surveillance systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair technical issues and maintain.
Knowledge of network protocols and security standards.
Experience with CCTV, IP cameras, and DVR systems.
Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing systems and or/ equipment.
Position requires technician to participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
Technician would be available to answer client calls after normal working hours on weekend/holidays depending on the rotation order.
Responsible for updating team lead on the status of all work performed daily.
Notify team lead of any materials needed to complete duties.
Perform additional Security Technician related functions as assigned by the team lead and deemed within the general skill and ability level of a productive Security Technician in the company.
Familiarity with local and state regulations related to surveillance.
Create and execute test cases based on team/business requirements to ensure quality delivery of solutions prior to deployment.
Partner with IT and Project Planning teams to improve existing processes to ensure all requirements are met.
Assess, research, analyse and document Project/Resource Planning processes and systems to recommend solutions that meet sponsor/ stakeholder needs.
Help identify any resource conflicts as it pertains to Protection Services and test schedules.
Assist in simple data requests to extract production data and multi-load/insert to test environment.
Assist in test environment databases/test data purge process.
Resource Management:
Provide input into required changes in resources (financial or non-financial) to enable the achievement of team and/or own objectives.
Monitor the use of assets and resources within the team and own area of responsibility, to ensure assets and resources are consistently and appropriately utilised and managed.
Provide staff with day-to-day direction and tasks aligned with Departmental procedures, to enable the usage of less resources more efficiently.
Stakeholder Relations
Communicate with all relevant Departments on issues of the area of speciality. Liaise across the relevant Departments by engaging with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure all stakeholders remain abreast of Departmental objectives, any potential derailers are appropriately managed and duplication of work is avoided.
Communicate with internal and/or external stakeholders, where required, to achieve work objectives and to maintain relationships.
Qualifications:
Grade 12
A+
N+
Low voltage electrical license preferred or alternatively an experienced Security Filed Service Technician who is in process of obtaining their license.
Valid C1 Driver's License
Job specific experience:
3 years field work experience.
Installing and servicing CCTV, DVR systems, alarms and security systems in mining environments.
Broad deep tech knowledge across consumer facing, business facing, infrastructure and software.
Proficiency on software applications including but not limited to Microsoft, Excel Word, and Visio
Inherent requirements
