GF Africa supplies technical piping products and solutions across the region. We partner with suppliers and customers to deliver high-quality pipes, fittings, valves and measurement & control products. Were scaling our supply chain operations and need a pragmatic, supplier-focused Supply Chain Officer to join the team.
Role Summary
You will own procurement, supplier management and logistics for our technical product range (metallic & non-metallic piping components). Report to the Director and work closely with Sales and Accounts to ensure on-time deliveries, competitive pricing, and accurate stock levels.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage supplier relationships and lead price & commercial-term negotiations.
• Place and manage purchase orders; follow up on order confirmations and O/C changes.
• Cross-check order confirmations for pricing and lead-times; communicate changes to Sales.
• Identify and qualify alternative suppliers and complementary products to broaden range.
• Review supplier weekly production & readiness reports; update internal stakeholders.
• Select optimal transport methods, book collections and manage carrier relationships.
• Track shipments, manage customs documentation & coordinate clearance for imports/exports.
• Release supplier orders per company rules and ensure certificates of conformity are managed.
• Oversee stockholding, stock value reporting and periodic stock-takes.

• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in procurement and expediting (technical products preferred).
• Practical knowledge of piping systems: pipes, fittings, valves, measurement & control (metallic and non-metallic).
• Demonstrable experience with international suppliers and import/export/customs processes.
• Strong MS Excel skills; experience with order management / ERP or inventory systems.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Able to work under own initiative and coordinate across Sales & Accounts.

Advantage Skills

• Previous experience in industrial/technical distribution or MRO sectors.
• Formal procurement / SCM qualification or certification.
• Familiarity with certificate of conformity processes for technical products.
