You will be part of the Sub-Saharan Africa, Supplier Quality Control Team who are dedicated to ensuring good quality products are delivered on time to our customers..

Purpose of the Role

To ensure that deliveries meet FLSmidth purchase order, engineering quality specifications, drawing and clientxc2xb4s contract requirements. To continuously perform in process and final inspection of fabrication, machining, materials, hardware and supplier documentation for conformance to requirements.

Your responsibilities

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

This role will entails performing quality control inspections. Inspection may be either receiving inspections at the Chloorkop workshop and/or at a supplierxe2x80x99s premises where the work is being manufactured, as necessary.

Ability to perform independent inspections of equipment or processes (welding, dimension, painting, machining etc.), with clear decisions.

Ability to report or contact counterparts (Engineering, Purchasing, Facility Quality Control etc.), for clarifications, in a structured way, and follow up.

Ensures supplier has complied with all aspects of the approved Quality Control Plan / Inspection and Test Plan / Certificate of Conformance with supporting documentation and reviews results of inspections prior to acceptance of manufacturing.

Ability to follow-up, verify supplier inspection planning, and report to stakeholders as necessary.

Instruct suppliers during manufacturing so that they fully understand FLS specifications and purchase order requirements.

Team player, who reach out for help to colleagues and/or manager when required.

Verify and report progress to internal stakeholders with regards to quality control activities

Confirms measurement devices used to verify manufacture have up to date calibration documents.

Identify and report non-conformances and monitors resolution prior to acceptance.

Identify and report on supplier technical queries, concession request applications and monitors resolution prior to acceptance.

Performs regular workshop assessments to check compliance with quality and HSE requirements (Supplier Sustainability Surveys etc.).

Ensure that policies, procedures, workmanship practices and procedures are understood and followed.

What you bring

Post high school formal education:

tertiary education through a recognized University / Technicon / Technical College / Institution,

formal quality control inspection qualification (SAIW / PCN Level I or equivalent) through a recognized national / international body,

a previously qualified artisan with workshop experience,

equivalent relevant technical qualification / experience to above.

A few years of practical experience, preferably from a Machining or Platework / Structural fabrication workshop.

Understanding of quality processes and documentation requirements.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Basic understanding of tools, metrology according to drawing requirements, specification requirements and processes required in manufacturing processes.

Detailed report writing ability with diligent and timeous submissions to stakeholders.

Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office product suite (computer literate).

Good English skills (read, write and speak)

A valid South African Driverxe2x80x99s license.
