Purpose of the Position:

• The purpose of this role is to assist the technical facilities manager of Corporate Real Estate Services property portfolio to ensure efficient operation of plant, as well as compliance with all associated regulations. The focus will be across a variety of properties as per the Businesses portfolio for the Multichoice group. Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of M net and Multi Choice Campus Randburg and national branches. Assist in planning of material and job-related issues.

• This role assists the technical manager with planning, co-coordinating and controlling all technical (hard services) and facilities management activities on behalf of MultiChoice for Campus and branch sites nationally.
• The incumbent Candidate form part of the technical team in maintaining, managing of HVAC (Heating ventilation and air conditioning systems) systems, mechanical, electrical systems as well as the Maintenance of water reticulation systems for NMS.com. Maintenance and Technical Services
• The key role of this position will be the responsibility for commissioning, maintaining, repair and fault finding on specific equipment and systems also assisting the technical manager.

• Emergency Fault finding and rectification on all systems
• Capacity management of data center equipment rooms and management of cooling capacity and electrical reticulation.
• Submission of daily capacity reports and updating of Data sheets
• Daily inspections of plant and plant rooms.
• Electrical reticulation management and strict control over critical supply.
• Assisting in maintaining SLAxe2x80x99s.
• Submission of change management requests.
• The right person must have good influencing, listening, analytical and communication skills as well as having a broad technical skill base
• The successful candidate will be taking a lead in developing staff in-house and contracted and should be able to clearly demonstrate their understanding of such issues.

• The ideal candidate must be able to keep abreast with new technology.
• Extensive experience with UPS systems and generators.
• Experience on MV reticulation and switch gear.
• Infra-Red scanning of DBxe2x80x99s Compliance, Environmental, Health and Safety and Risk Management
• Managing vendor compliance in line with the MultiChoice Group Procedures
• Understanding of when it is necessary to seek advice from the Facilities General Manager, Security / Health and Safety Manager and Technical Manager to ensure the correct procedures are followed
• Managing compliance including standard operating procedure, purchasing and statutory requirements (Health and Safety)
• Ensure compliance with all MultiChoice Group policies, site rules and statutory regulations relating to Health and Safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness and COSHH (control of substances, hazards and health). This includes awareness of any specific hazards in the workplace and training of contract and permanent staff.
• Delivery of continued safety awareness to all staff and engage in weekly positive safety conversations

• Applicant must have an N3/Grade 12 and an appropriate Trade test certificates as an electrician and a wire mans certificate with at least 3 years post-qualification experience in an electrical and air conditioning environment.
• Ability to read & understand Schematic drawings.
• Sound knowledge of fault finding on HVAC systems and digital control systems
• Must be willing to work overtime.
• Have a strong ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.
• Computer literate
• In possession of a valid driverxe2x80x99s license

• 3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience with a minimum 1 yearsxe2x80x99 operating with this qualification
• Experience of dual power supply sources and the workings Excellent co-ordination and facilitation skills.
