Substation Maintenance Electrician
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Substation Maintenance Electrician to join our dynamic team at Siemens Energy. You will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of Electrical Balance of Plant (EBOP) components, including high-voltage substations and overhead lines. You will monitor the power plant via the Clientxe2x80x99s Monitoring System, conduct inspections, perform testing, install and maintain MV/HV electrical systems, and produce weekly reports for the Project Manager.Candidates must be based in or near Garob, Soetwater, or Karusa (Western/Northern Cape), or willing to relocate.Key Responsibilities:Conduct daily inspections, testing, and maintenance of MV/HV substation systems.Ensure reliable operation of 132kV loop-in/loop-out connections.Monitor plant performance and report operational data.Comply with OH&S and ORHVS procedures and standards.Serve as the technical advisor on site.Maintain safety protocols in live substation environments.Required Skills and Experience:Red Seal qualified Electrician (after minimum N2 & completed apprenticeship).3+ yearsxe2x80x99 experience on Medium Voltage (MV) or High Voltage (HV) systems (3.3kV xe2x80x93 33kV+).ORHVS trained and certified Responsible Person (RP).Technical proficiency in substation drawings and EBOP systems.Valid driverxe2x80x99s license and good written communication skills.
