Student Quantity Surveyor
Job Description
Welcoming students into our business is an important tradition in our company. We love their vibrancy and vitality and over many decades, scores of students have passed through our doors to supplement their theoretical learning with practical, on-the-job learning and exposure to industry teachers and mentors.
This in-service experience forms part of the learning curriculum and exposes students to the commercial (estimating and quantity surveying) and production aspects of the business. In-service trainees are assigned to teams to gain deep exposure to the industry and to learn the foundations of tendering, project cost management and construction.
The Student - Quantity Surveyor, under the supervision of more senior roles, supports other specialists in the department and maximizes their learning opportunities by applying academic knowledge and incrementally increasing experience and technical skills.
We are proud of our student programme and many of our senior executives first joined the company during their in-service year, followed by numerous holiday working stints and finally, as qualified graduates. That's the GVK way.
