A specialist engineering firm is seeking a sharp-minded Structural Engineer to join their advanced design team. This role is all about precision, performance, and protecting mission-critical infrastructure--from seismic ceiling systems to heavy-duty raised flooring used in data centres and telecom hubs across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Analysis

• Engineer modular floor and ceiling systems for load-bearing, vibration control, and seismic performance
• Use structural modeling and simulation tools (e.g. FEA) to validate designs under complex conditions

Material & Detailing

• Specify and refine structural elements including steel framing, bracing, and composite panels
• Collaborate closely with local manufacturing teams for custom fabrication and design tweaks

Drawings & CAD Support

• Develop precise 2D and 3D technical drawings
• Contribute to BIM integration and installation readiness across the project lifecycle

Compliance & QA

• Ensure alignment with SANS, ISO, and international building codes
• Support field inspections and QA procedures for seismic anchoring and structural integrity

Project Integration

• Liaise with project engineers, procurement, and on-site contractors
• Integrate systems seamlessly into electrical, cooling, and technical infrastructure

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• Degreed Structural Engineer with experience in mission-critical infrastructure
• Proficient in CAD/FEA tools and seismic design methods
• Comfortable working alongside engineering, fabrication, and field teams
• Bonus: experience with modular construction, prefabrication, or telecom sector projects
