Job Summary

We are looking for a Structural Steel Draughtsman with a minimum of 3 years Tekla structural drawing experience for a manufacturing based company on the East Rand

Responsibilities

• Responsible to generate full quotation and production engineering structural steel drawings
• Ensure all drawings and bill of materials are completed on-time
• Ensure that all drawings have the required Production and Technical Specifications for material purchasing and conform to relevant standards and specifications
• Follow and promote uniformity of structural design as per company guidelines
• Maintenance of Drawing Office Records, change requests, revisions
• Where applicable, with Manager consult with Engineers on new or changed designs before proceeding with drawings
• Ensure sufficient checking of drawings and BOMs to eliminate Non-Conformance reports
• Countersign NCRs received by the quality department and manage drawing corrections accordingly
• Interact and assist other departments as required

Requirements

• Grade 12
• N4/N5 Building design/Structural or similar qualification is preferred
• MUST HAVE 2 - 4 years TEKLA drawing experience in a structural environment
• MUST HAVE 2 - 4 years structural steel drawing experience - this is NOT negotiable
• Strong understanding of Manufacturing processes
• Attention to detail and self-driven is essential
• Good working experience with MS Office packages
• Good communication skills both verbal and written are essential
• Projects experience at similar level
• Good mathematical skills and basic reasoning ability
• Salary is dependent on technical expertise and relevant industry experience
• South African citizens only
