Job Description

Reputable Engineering company in Gauteng is looking for a suitably qualified mid level Structural Design Engineer to join their team in Gauteng.

Qualifications and minimum requirements:

• Structural Engineering diploma or degree
• Excellent mathematical and analytical abilities
• Good understanding of structural modelling/analysis xe2x80x93 Ability to solve complex engineering problems
• Good knowledge of building and construction (Materials, methods, and techniques)
• Autodesk suite of programs such as AutoCAD & Bim360
• Prokon, Prokon Probar, Revit (Proficiency 4-7 Years - Intermediate) xe2x80x93 Advanced will be advantageous
• Experience in reinforcement steel, structural steel, and Structural Concrete design (Timber design will be advantageous)
• Ability to assess and understand architectural layouts in order to coordinate and overlay with structural layouts
• Attention to detail

Experience:

• Minimum 4-7+ Years in retail, commercial and residential steel and concrete structures design (Timber, Petrochemical and Agriculture will be advantageous)
• A thorough understanding of reinforcement steel and detailing (Preparation of bending schedules)
• Preparation of concrete drawings (layouts, sections, and details)
• Preparation of structural steel layouts, sections, and details
• Site experience xe2x80x93 assisting the lead/project engineer/project manager with site inspections, measurements, and surveys
• Attending planning, technical and site meetings

Computer literacy:

• Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• AutoCAD 3D
• Autodesk Revit
• Autodesk BIM360
• Prokon Probar (Reinforcement detailing software)
• Prokon
