Our International Client seeks to employ an Associate Civil Engineer with stormwater experience who has typically managed a range of responsibilities related to the planning, design, and management of stormwater infrastructure. Here is a general outline of the job description: * Stormwater Management Planning: Assisting in the development and implementation of stormwater management plans. This involves analyzing watershed characteristics, assessing runoff patterns, and designing stormwater management systems to mitigate flooding, erosion, and water quality issues.

• Design and Engineering: Participating in the design and engineering of stormwater infrastructure such as stormwater conveyance systems, detention basins, retention ponds, culverts, and other drainage structures. This includes conducting hydraulic calculations, preparing design drawings, and selecting appropriate materials and construction techniques.
• Permitting and Compliance: Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal stormwater regulations and permit requirements. This involves preparing permit applications, conducting stormwater impact assessments, and implementing best management practices (BMPs) to meet regulatory standards.
• Construction Oversight: Providing technical support during the construction phase of stormwater projects. This includes conducting site inspections, monitoring construction activities, reviewing submittals, and ensuring compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
• Hydrologic and Hydraulic Analysis: Performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to assess stormwater runoff, flow rates, and capacities of drainage systems. This may involve using software tools and models to simulate storm events, evaluate system performance, and recommend design modifications as needed.
• Data Collection and Analysis: Collecting field data, conducting surveys, and analyzing data related to stormwater infrastructure. This includes assessing existing drainage conditions, evaluating system performance, and identifying areas for improvement or retrofitting.
• Project Management: Assisting in project management tasks such as developing project schedules, monitoring budgets, and coordinating with stakeholders including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies. This may also involve preparing progress reports, tracking project milestones, and ensuring timely project delivery.
• Environmental Considerations: Integrating environmental considerations into stormwater management practices. This includes promoting sustainable stormwater management techniques, incorporating green infrastructure approaches, and addressing water quality concerns through the implementation of erosion and sediment control measures.
• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and effectively communicating with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders. This involves participating in meetings, presenting technical information, and coordinating efforts to achieve project objectives.

To apply you must have :

• Civil Engineering Degree
• Master Degree would be ideal
• PrEng
• 10 to 15 years of experience
• Software analysis and desing software
• Must be highly experienced in the design and analysis of stormwater reticulation systems
• Ideally based in Cape Town or committed to relocate to Cape Town

As an Associate Civil Engineer with stormwater experience, you would be responsible for contributing to the design, implementation, and management of stormwater projects.
