We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Stores Supervisor to manage the critical logistics functions of our primary distribution facility.
Salary: R30,000 to R40,000 per month.
Key Responsibilities:
The Stores Supervisor is responsible for the efficient and accurate operation of all warehouse and logistical activities. This is a hands-on role requiring comprehensive management of stock flow, personnel, and compliance within a fast-paced environment.
Core Accountabilities:
Logistics Management: Oversee and manage daily stores receiving processes, ensuring materials are checked, documented, and accurately allocated.
Dispatch Operations: Direct and monitor the stores dispatch function, guaranteeing timely and correct fulfillment of orders for internal and external clients.
Fleet Supervision: Supervise the activities of the driver and delivery fleet (3 drivers), including route planning, vehicle maintenance liaison, and adherence to delivery schedules.
Inventory Control: Implement robust stock control measures, including physical counts, cycle counts, and discrepancy resolution, to maintain accurate inventory levels.
Staff Leadership: Direct, motivate, and manage a team of 7 pickers/pullers and 3 drivers, ensuring optimal productivity, adherence to safety protocols, and clear communication.
Inter-Departmental Liaison: Facilitate smooth workflow and communication by effectively dealing with internal administrative staff, including internal sales, creditors, and debtors.
Warehouse Compliance: Maintain high standards of warehouse housekeeping and organization, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment at all times.
Process Adherence: Ensure strict compliance with timekeeping protocols and process deadlines to meet operational demands.
Required Experience and Technical Understanding:
The successful candidate must possess demonstrable expertise across core warehousing disciplines.
Exact Experience and Qualifications Required:
+ Successfully completed a post-school qualification in Warehousing, Logistics, or Stock Control.
+ Proven supervisory experience, specifically managing a team comprising both pickers/pullers and drivers.
+ Must possess own reliable transport. The Ideal Candidate Should Demonstrate Understanding of, but not be Limited to:
+ The practical execution of stores receiving and dispatching procedures.
+ Effective stock control methodologies and management principles.
+ Supervision and management of a dedicated driver/delivery fleet.
+ Implementing and maintaining strict warehouse housekeeping standards.
+ The ability to work effectively and maintain accuracy under pressure and strict deadlines.
+ Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Stock Management Systems; proficiency in SAGE 300 is a distinct advantage.
+ Understanding and adherence to ISO9001 implementation and quality management procedures.
+ Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical components, beneficial for handling specialized industrial products.
+ A background in the lighting or related electrical/mechanical industry is considered an added advantage.
