to manage the receipt, storage, issuing, and control of stock at our COSH site in Escourt, KZN. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate stock levels, proper storage, and effective inventory control in line with company procedures and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, check, and record all stock deliveries, ensuring accuracy, quality, and correct quantities.
Store all goods correctly according to food safety standards, temperature requirements, and storage procedures.
Issue stock to the kitchen and operations teams in line with approved requisitions.
Maintain accurate stock records, including bin cards, stock sheets, and system entries where applicable.
Conduct regular stock counts and assist with monthly stocktakes.
Ensure effective stock rotation using FIFO principles and monitor expiry dates.
Report shortages, damages, variances, and expired stock to management.
Maintain cleanliness, order, and organisation of the storeroom at all times.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and company policies.
Work closely with the kitchen and operations team to support efficient service delivery.
Requirements / Skills
Grade 12 qualification.
Valid South African ID.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar Stores Controller or stock control role.
Experience in a catering, food service, or hospitality environment will be an advantage.
Sound knowledge of stock control procedures, FIFO, and inventory management.
Good numerical ability and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Reliable, honest, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
