Job Description

Job Purpose

The Lounges Driver/Store man is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe transportation of goods, supplies, and equipment between the Air Chefs unit and the Airport Lounges. The role includes the organization, management, and upkeep of the lounges' storage and freezer areas, as well as participation in stock control and support to the lounge operations team.

Principal Accountabilities

Service (Receiving and Issuing of Stock)

Logistics & Transport

Conduct timely and secure collections and deliveries between the Air Chefs unit and the Cape Town Airport Lounges. Carry out additional deliveries or collections from other designated suppliers or service providers as required. Ensure all deliveries are accompanied by the correct documentation and that items are verified upon collection and delivery. Maintain the company vehicle in clean, roadworthy condition and report any faults or incidents immediately. Adhere to Air Chefs' transport, safety, and hygiene protocols at all times.

Stores Management

Maintain the lounges' store and freezer areas in an organized, clean, and tidy condition. Receive, check, and properly store all incoming goods according to stock rotation and food safety standards (FIFO). Ensure proper labelling, temperature control, and inventory accuracy. Assist with issuing stock to the lounge kitchen and service areas as per operational requirements.

Stock Control

Participate in monthly stock counts with the Lounge Team. Support the reconciliation of physical and system stock records, ensuring accuracy and accountability. Report any variances, losses, or damages promptly.

Operational Support

Provide general assistance to the Lounge team with operational requirements, including setting up deliveries, loading and unloading stock, and other ad hoc duties. Support team members during busy operational periods to ensure seamless service delivery. Be able to work additional hours when required to support operational needs. Physical activity and lifting maybe required

SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality)

. Adhere strictly to all Security, SHEQ, HACCP, and operational policies and procedures

. Ensure storage areas are always compliant with good housekeeping and safety standards

Stakeholder Engagement

Maintain open communication with Lounge Management regarding day-to-day operational needs.

Deliver service in a customer-oriented manner, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).

Qualifications & Experience

Matric or equivalent Minimum 3 year experience in a Catering environment would be advantageous Warehouse and Stores experience Good communication skills (verbal and written) Good interpersonal relations Ability to work independently Team Player Knowledge of HACCP
