Job Description

We are searching for a Storeman who will be responsible for accepting all deliveries at our wine estate.



Deliverables will be received, inspected and recorded. You are responsible for unloading packages and checking their contents to ensure they match the orders. You must have a great eye for detail and basic math skills. Also have adequate physical strength to unload deliveries. The goal is to ensure we receive the correct packages and stock them appropriately.



For items which are brand-specific you will liaise with the department that ordered it and get them to sign it in.

The Employee's responsibilities shall include, among other things, the following:




Checking and ensuring the items aren't damaged, is the pack size and weight; Storing in the correct storeroom or issued immediately to the designated store; Responsible for implementing stock rotation and ensuring that the goods are within their expiry date; Required to be physically fit and able to carry the strenuous tasks required of them; Needs to be literate and able to write; and Need to communicate telephonically should they be required to request a credit note or have picked up any discrepancies on delivery.



Daily Duties:




Stock receiving (Items which need to be weighed to be weighed, units counted etc). Receive, check/weigh all food and beverage products delivered to the farm; Store Management - packed according to the stock sheet; Ensure the storerooms are neat and tidy; and comply with health & safety regulations pertaining to food safety Stock capturing on inventory system. Stock storage in central store. Picking stock from internal orders received. Issuing stock to internal customers. Ensure all stock issued is recorded and signed for. Processed invoices to be given to Procurement & Cost Contol Manager for Finance payment preparation Stock takes ensuring that stores balances. To be used for top up orders. Supplier liaison and order placement ensuring timeous delivery Report any discrepancies relating to stock & suppliers to Procurement & Cost Control Manager



Monthly Duties:




Central store stock takes Assisting with stock verification in outlet and capturing stock sheets



Position Requirements:









Experience


Hospitality experience and understanding stock, inventory & stock movements Comprehensive knowledge of Food & Beverage ingredients




Education


High school diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement).


Core Competencies


Able to communicate clearly in English (written & spoken) Computer literacy with Microsoft Suite advantageous. Inventory system knowledge advantageous but can be taught A positive attitude and ability work well under pressure Does high-quality work while unsupervised. Be able to take initiative. Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time. Physical Fitness being able to safely lift and easily move heavy items. * Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed.
