Job Description

To assist in the fulfilling of the Procurement function at CPUT in line with the Procurement policy and relevant supply chain management, legislation and regulations. To maintain effective stores structure and ensure value for money is achieved on all purchased activities (goods or services) by maximizing the buying power.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum requirements:

• A Senior Certificate / Matric/ Grade 12.
• Four (4) years of relevant experience in the stores environment, including procurement knowledge.
• One (1) year supervisory skills with the ability to do and manage stock taking.
• International qualifications must be accompanied by SAQA verification.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal).
• Good numeracy skills.
• Computer literacy

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities

• Procurement function implementation in accordance with the procurement policy and relevant legislation
• Needed Analysis
• Handling of queries
• Placing of orders and ensuring economies of scale.
• Marketing of procurement function
• Price negotiation
• Supplier relationship building
• Supplier performance management
• Liaising with suppliers and keeping up to date withmarket procurement trends
• Liaising with and assisting end users throughout the procurement function
• Report writing
• General administration
• Ad hoc duties assigned by the line manager
