Job Description

To ensure the effective and efficient management of the maintenance engineering stores on a day to day basis so that stock is managed in a professional manner to offset shrinkage and financial loss and to ensure that the best possible prices are obtained in respect of parts or services purchased without sacrificing quality.

Duties & Responsibilities
Generic Objectives

  • Maintain adequate levels of technical and non-technical stock.
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of stock items and the use in Building maintenance.
  • Ensure that the stock in the stores is secured and kept in an orderly and tidy fashion.
  • Receive and issue stock in accordance with company procedure.
  • Physical movement of stock, packing of store and issuing of stock.
  • Conduct stock counts on a regular basis.
  • Ensure that information about stock received and issued is captured accurately on the stock management system, critically the use of Infor EAM modules.
Stock control
  • Effective stock control in terms of capturing and issuing of parts and consumables to off-set shrinkage. This aspect will be measured by Stock Audits
Feedback
  • Provide feedback and critical observation to the Store Supervisor on daily issues and performance
Customer Satisfaction
  • Ensure a high level of customer service is provided and maintained.
ISO 9001; 14001 and45001 - Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Standards
  • Adhere to the TFS's Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) Management System's Policies and Procedures of as applicable to this position.
Ad Hoc
  • Any reasonable action requested by management
Skills and Competencies
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical operations and building maintenance.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Planning and organising skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
  • A tertiary qualification would be advantageous.
  • 2 years clerical experience in a technical environment or 2 years work as a Handyman or Artisan.
  • Knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Computer Systems Skills - an experienced Infor EAM user.
  • Computer Literate MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel & MS Outlook).
