Job Description
Introduction:
A leader in the plastics game in Germiston, is on the hunt for a Storeman with warehousing experience.
Here's what we're looking for:
- Grade 12; a warehousing qualification will be a bonus
- At least 2 - 4 years' experience in store or parts department in a plastics or manufacturing environment
- Ability to operate a forklift with at least 1 years' experience
- Physically fit with the ability to carry component weighing at least 20kg by hand
- Be willing to work overtime
- Solid communication skills
- Computer literacy skills, ideally having worked on the JD Edwards ERP system
- Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work methodically
- Manage and keep accurate records of all parts or goods in the stores department
- Maintain the correct stock levels of parts or goods
- Conduct regular stock checks and report on stock levels to the Maintenance Manager
- Ensure materials, parts or goods are available for upcoming projects
- Unpack and check parts or goods received
- Develop a relationship with suppliers and source the best price for parts, materials or goods
- If the quality of the parts, materials or goods are poor or below the standard, report this to the supplier and arrange for collection or replacement
- Ensure working area is kept clean in line with normal conduct
- Ensure all unsafe acts and conditions are reported to direct reporting manager
- Adhere to all safety rules, policies and procedures
- Apply all Company policies and procedures in so far as it relates to employment conditions
Salary: Basic salary of R10 000 - R15 000 PM, Additional benefits include a 50% medical aid benefit
