Prime Paint & Hardware is looking for a new store manager to join and lead our team. Candidates must be self-motivated, have positive leadership attributes, be computer literate and be able to work independently as well as with various teams. Prior management / supervisory experience of at least 3 years in a paint & hardware store environment is essential. Only suitable candidates who meet the requirements below will be considered.

Responsibilities:
Sales & Marketing:
Ensure smooth and efficient running of the store through a range of customer, staff and sales focused responsibilities.
Championing customer service excellence.
Ability to maximise and drive sales by identifying opportunities to increase turnover.
Implementing sales initiatives to reach store targets / goals.
Engaging with supplier representatives and communicating any current consumer promotions to the team.
Handling of customer complaints in a professional and dignified manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
Team Management:
Inspire, motivate, guide and develop your team by leading as an example.
Build a team environment through weekly team meetings to share sales targets, upcoming promotions and get feedback from "on the ground" on how to improve.
Recruit, lead and motivate the store team to maximise sales and provide exceptional customer service.
New team member induction and "first day" training.
Allocate tasks and monitor completion thereof.
Team member performance appraisals, rewarding and disciplining, resolving conflicts.
Identifying areas of weakness within the team and training measures needed to improve.
Operations:
Overseeing of the day to day operations, administration, customer sales & service and overall management of the team to ensure the store runs smoothly to meet customer expectations.
Opening and closing of the store.
Safeguarding all keys / codes and adhering to all security procedures.
Maintaining adequate stock levels to meet customer demand.
AdHoc stock ordering of items to complete customer orders.
Processing of all mistints / supplier returns and other stock related matters.
AdHoc stock checks to the POS system including managing of bi-annual stock takes.
Adhere to stock loss control in store.
Reducing all slow-moving / aged stock.
Writing off all colourants used for the month.
Ordering of all stationary and supplies and ensuring control thereof.
Attend all management meetings and compile monthly reports for review.
Understand, accept and follow all company policies and procedures while ensuring all team members in the store adhere the same.
Identify areas to improve operationally resulting in a better customer experience.
Finance:
Managing store finances, KPI's and stock levels.
Maintain continuity, growth and profitability of the store.
Daily cash-ups, banking and other in-house monetary controls.
Ensuring all pricing changes are actioned correctly on shelf.
Keep store spending within budget and identify opportunities to decrease expenses.

3 years of paint & hardware retail management / supervisory experience
Knowledge of paint & hardware products & applications

Merchandising principles
Computer proficiency in:
Microsoft 365 - Required
Google Workspace Environment (Highly Advantageous)
IQ Retail (Advantageous)
