COMPANY DESCRIPTION:
Our client is one of South Africas largest franchise retailers and is looking for a Store Assistant Manager to join their team as soon as possible. The position is based in Rondebosch, Cape Town.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Supporting the Store Manager by overseeing daily operations, managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, monitoring inventory levels, driving sales, and maintaining store efficiency.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Staff Management:

• Create employee schedules and assign shifts
• Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching
• Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback
• Address staff issues and concerns
• Lead team meetings and motivate staff

Customer Service:

• Handle customer inquiries and complaints
• Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained
• Resolve customer issues effectively

Sales and Operations:

• Monitor sales performance and identify areas for improvement
• Assist in implementing sales strategies and promotions
• Manage inventory levels and stock rotation
• Oversee visual merchandising and product displays

Reporting and Analysis:

• Track key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Analyze sales data to identify trends
• Prepare reports for the store manager

Administrative Tasks:

• Open and close the store as needed
• Manage cash handling procedures
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
• Maintain store cleanliness and appearance

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Retail related qualifications will be beneficial

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• 3 5 Years experience in a similar position
• Retail experience
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Excellent customer service abilities
• Ability to manage time effectively
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Basic understanding of retail operations and sales strategies
