Job Description


An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Stops Manager within a logistics company based in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure improvement of Customer Satisfaction through customer service initiatives and strategies
  • Enable and manage the achievement of service performance that meets or exceeds customer expectations and differentiates the company from the competitors
  • Ensure regional service standards are met or exceeded on all OPS scorecards
  • Maintain records of penalties and refunds on a weekly/monthly basis and provide feedback to management of performance issues
  • Implementing preventative measures to reduce the number of refunds and penalties against previous performance
  • Control and Management of pending customs cases, stops and post clearance operations
  • Maintain excellent relationships with customs officials, carriers as well as customers to ensure timely movement of import shipments in the most efficient manner
  • To maintain relationships with organisations associated with customs and carrier to ensure maximum co-operation between staff and third parties
  • Continually review and improve business processes to improve productivity and add value to company services
  • Monitoring trends and outing trends in place and corrective measures where required
  • Manage and monitor the stops department ensuring that customers are contacted daily, and timely updates are done on all systems to improve the quality of the service to Customers, both external and internal
  • Plan and implement corrective actions to improve service and transit time performance
  • Continual review of current export process to ensure that the maximum time and performance is achieved with the available resources
  • Ensure that all customs and related activities are conducted in a professional manner, paying special attention to the adherence of customs rules and regulations and the requirements of the Customs and Excise Act
  • Manage roles and responsibilities and performance targets and goals within export team
  • Plan, organize and direct efficient and effective functions
  • Monitor IKOs/KPIs with team members and monitor individual performance of Exports
  • Manage the allocation of appropriate resources and commitment of staff to the achievement of regional objectives and targets
  • Identify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled functional department
  • Mentor, guide, and coach staff to ensure that the highest service levels of engagement are obtained to achieve set out targets
Requirements
  • Customs clearance diploma / Management Diploma or Degree or equivalent
  • 5-7 yearsxe2x80x99 experience within customs stops role in the courier industry
  • Knowledge of framing entries and adjustments would be an advantage
  • Stops/compliance background experience
  • Certificate in Customs Clearance Course
  • Good knowledge of Customs and Excise and Procedures
  • Computer Literate
  • Valid driverxe2x80x99s license
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Ability to manage time and be punctual
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Valid driverxe2x80x99s license
